Wreck This Journal

I recently received this lovely giveaway prize from Renee over at losetheroad.blogspot.ca. I've been meaning to pick myself up a copy of Wreck this Journal for so long now, but just never got round to it, so I'm so happy to have won it.

I'm sure the majority of you will have seen this around already, or at least the first edition of the book, but if you haven't here is a little description of the book.

'An illustrated book that features a subversive collection of prompts, asking readers to muster up their best mistake and mess-making abilities and to fill the pages of the book (or destroy them)

Through a series of creatively and quirkily illustrated prompts, acclaimed artist Keri Smith encourages journalers to engage in 'destructive' acts--poking holes through pages, adding photos and defacing them, painting pages with coffee, colouring outside the lines, and more--in order to experience the true creative process. With Smith's unique sensibility, readers are introduced to a new way of art and journal making, discovering novel ways to escape the fear of the black page and fully engage in the creative process.'

It's perfect for any creative sole or in fact those who aren't so creative due to the prompts given on how to fill the pages. I currently have my own sketch book that I'm in the process of filling up, but as that is more of diary style sketch book, I'm looking forward to just being completely creative and random when completing my copy of Wreck this Journal. I plan to do so over the summer break and I can't wait to see how it turns out. I love a packed and messy looking sketchbook and this will encourage me to be more creative in with my artwork. I'll no doubt write a few posts with a selection of pages from the book as I do them, so look out for them in the future.

I'd love to see other peoples copies of Wreck the Journal, so if you have any posts about them, feel free to leave a link to them a comment.
