As a vegan, I often get people asking me if I miss cheese, the simple answer is no. The extended answer is, no, have you not heard of Gozo Casheese?
Based in London, Gozo Deli began life back in 2014 producing Casheese, a cheese alternative made from Cashew Nuts. Offering four different flavours, Smoked Paprika, Fresh Herb, Basil Pesto and Chive, all the Casheeses are organic, dairy free and gluten free, vegan, free from additives and handmade in Britain. Not too shabby aye? Also, I just though I'd mention that they come in glass jars and I already know I'm going to be repurposing them, they're so cute.
I tried out each flavour on a cracker, so I could really appreciate their individual taste and as it turned out, I loved them all. I thought Parprika was going to be my favourite, but I can't decide between that and French herb. They are also the perfect 'cheese' to make cheesy pasta with, something which I've eaten far too much of lately, but still not enough. You can see the pasta I made using a mix of Parprika and French herb here and let me tell you, I could eat it every day and be happy. I'll be ordering myself some more very soon.
The Casheeses cost £3.85 each, are available online and in selected stores around London, which you will find a link to here.
