A Trip To Warwick, Warwickshire

Last weekend I jumped on the train with my friend Faye and headed to Warwick. Be warned - the post it quite picture heavy.

We had originally booked to stay in an Airbnb, however due to a last minute cancellation we ended up in a 400 year old inn instead - quite the difference.

We arrived into Warwick on Friday night, checked in at the inn and headed out for something to eat. We found Fusca, a vegetarian and vegan restaurant just a five-ten minute walk away. The low lighting meant we couldn't get good photos of our food (a bloggers nightmare), but we both had a sweet potato and chickpea curry with couscous and it was delicious. We went back to the inn for a few drinks before heading to bed.

On Saturday after breakfast, we left for Warwick Castle. Pretty much straight away we had the dungeon tour booked. It's actually fairly scary and very creepy as well. Typically, after us both saying how much we would hate to be picked out from the crowd to participate, I was chosen not once, but three times. We walked around the grounds of the castle afterwards, climbing the stairs to the tops of the towers and looking through the grand house area. As we were about to leave later in the evening, we spotted the Horrible Histories maze, it's aimed at kids but hey, there was no one stopping us. We ended the night relaxing in the inn with a Sainsbury's salad each and some drinks. Just FYI, if necessary you can open a bottle cap with a teaspoon - very proud of myself for discovering this.

We had to be out of the room by 10:30/11 on the Sunday, so we checked out and headed into Birmingham. where we sat, drank coffee, ate sandwiches and cake and talked for about two or three hours.

Faye and I hadn't properly spent time together since before we left uni last year in May, so it had been quite a while. Luckily, it was as if we had never been apart and it was lovely weekend.
