A Trip To Cheshire

So, I took a little trip to Cheshire recently to catch up with my uni pals Faye and Lou, the day went far too quickly, but hopefully it won't be long until I see them again.

After a quick cup of tea, we headed into town for lunch at The Glasshouse. Quite a nice restaurant where I felt somewhat under dressed in an oversized shirt and denim jacket. I went for a rum and coke, while the other two had a glass of Pinot each. Faye had been lovely enough to let them know a vegan would be attending, so when the waiter brought our menus over, he made a point of letting my know what was vegan and that things could of course be altered if necessary (e.g. not cooked in butter, etc). There was a Sweet Potato Madras on the menu that was very tempting, but I thought it could be a bit much for lunch, so instead I opted for a Red Pepper and Hummus Sandwich with chips and rocket. For such a simple meal, it was gorgeous. We ate, we chatted and then decided to head off for a few cocktails.

We just popped into the wetherspoons for cocktails, buying a pitcher each and sharing them. The Porn Star Martini is definitely the best of the cocktails they have on offer (just FYI). After we had finished our drinks, we went for a walk around town, but it lasted all of 5 minutes because the town was so small, so thanks to a lift from Faye's mother, we went a bit further out to the countryside and went on a evening stroll.

It was a little chilly, but lovely to walk in the crisp, countryside air with two of my best friends. Again we chatted and took in the views. After our walk, we went back to Faye's and relaxed before I had to set off. Sadly, the day flew by and before I knew it I was on the train back to Birmingham. It has been 10 months since the three of us had all been together (apart from at Graduation), but we've all said there is no way we're leaving it so long again.
